Carmelo Anthony’s BAC Nearly Twice Legal Limit

Denver Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony’s blood alcohol level was nearly twice the legal limit for driving under the influence when Denver police arrested him earlier this month, according to an investigation by CBS Station KCNC-TV in Denver.

Anthony’s blood alcohol level registered .148, according to multiple sources familiar with the results of Anthony’s blood test. The legal limit for DUI in Colorado is .08.

Nuggets Look To Adjust Their Defense For Game 2

“I’m going to make reads, just like I always try to do, and take advantage of what they give us. They load up on Kobe (Bryant) a lot. That allowed us to find open guys on the weak side.”

The layups and dunks just kept on coming for the Los Angeles Lakers in their playoff opener against Denver. Pau Gasol, the main offender, figures the Nuggets will do whatever they can to change that in Game 2.

Gasol had seven dunks and five layups, and his teammates added 16 more baskets from point-blank range in the Lakers’ 128-114 victory over the Nuggets on Sunday. Half of the remaining 18 Los Angeles field goals were 3-pointers.

Just to show how well the Lakers attacked Denver’s defense, they were credited with 33 assists on their 46 field goals. Read more

Lakers begin preparing for Nuggets

“Hopefully it means we understand that if we play the way we’re capable of playing, we can beat this team”

In the words of coach Phil Jackson, the Los Angeles Lakers set themselves up for success by entering the playoffs as the No. 1 seed in the West.

What does that really mean?

Not that much.

‘You can throw a blanket over the first six teams in this conference,’ Jackson said Thursday, referring to the fact that those six were separated by only three games at season’s end.

Dallas and Denver weren’t bad either, giving the West a full complement of eight playoff teams with a minimum of 50 wins. So the Lakers realize that starting with the Nuggets, they figure to have a tough time no matter who they meet in the postseason. Read more
